Remote4cam is an Android application for your smartphone that helps you to easily:

This application is dedicated to IP cameras
- FOSCAM model FI8908W (pan and tilt)
- FOSCAM model FI8918W (pan and tilt)
- FOSCAM model FI8909W (pan and tilt)

- and certainly many other clones
First, using a PC you must perform the network setup of your IP camera.

You must ensure that the camera is configured to send emails when motion detection is armed.
You must be aware if you are able to access your IP camera from the Internet
(This article may be helpfull to configure your network in order to allow you to connect to your camera from the Internet)
if Yes then
you can use your Smartphone to Arm or Disarm the camera using the 3G network.
Into Preferences menu of Remote4Cam enter your external IP adress (visit whatismyip web site) if you have a static IP adress.
If you do not have a static IP adress you may use a dynamic DNS (e.g. dyndns.com) service to get a hostname.
if NO then
you can only arm or disarm your camera using your local WIFI
Into Preferences menu of Remote4Cam enter the IP adress you use to connect to the IP CAM from your network (local IP@ only visible from your local network)
Preferences Menu to configure Remote4Cam
Press the Menu button of your smartphone to access to the preferences Button.
The preferences menu allows you to enter:
user and password to connect to the camera. Mandatory. It is used into the url buit to send request to your camera.
IP is the adress or hostname used to connect to the camera. Mandatrory. (already explained in the above chapter)
Do not enter http:// in the IP field (only IP adress or hostname)
Some virtual keybord inadvertantly add a space after dot when you type IP adress.
192. 168. 2. 1 is WRONG
192.168.2.1 is OK
So remove the useless space caracters (they will cause an exception) if any.
The preference values are only stored localy on your phone, and are only used to send request to your camera.
Port Number: if you need to specify a port number to connect to you IP cam just add :my_port_number to the IP adress.
e.g. 192.168.2.1:8080 if the port number is 8080
Using Remote4Cam
A R M button:
arm the motion detection of the camera.
Click this button and you should get an OK message displayed a few second after.
if you get an exception then message the configuration is wrong.
D I S A R M button:
disarm the motion detection of the camera.
When you click on this button and you should get an OK message displayed a few second after.
if you get an exception message then the configuration is wrong
Help button:
Lauch this help page into the default navigator
Snapshot button:
Lauch the default navigator with a photo posted by the IP camera.
use the refresh menu of your navigator to refresh this photo.
if you get an exception message then the configuration is wrong
Ad:
This application is ad supported. Below the button you may see a google admod advert. You can upgrade to the pro version that is completely ad free and is more configurable.
If you have got and Exception message
if the exception contain HTML tags plus authorization word then it neans that your user or password is wrong
if you have other exception, then try to connect to your camera with the IP adress directly using the navigator of your mobile phone in order to check if is the network is well configured.

copy it on your smartphone
Browse the location where you copied it
Launch the APK
Pro version only:
- Is completely ad free
- Motion detection sensitivity is configurable (4 levels)
- Email on alarm can be enabled or disabled
- Upload interval is configurable (0 = disable, unit = seconds)
- Alarm input armed (I/O pin 3-4) can be enabled or disabled (e.g. to be armed or triggered by an other equipment)
- Output on alarm (I/O pin 1-2) can be enabled or disabled (e.g. to trigger an other equipment)
- SSL option (enable you to connect through https to your camera)
