Sunpak 522 review: professional studio flash

E-mail

The Sunpak 522 is a professional studio flash. It feature the most accurate and reliable metering I could imagine when used in auto mode. The weakness is the poor ergonomics.

Sunpak 522 mounted on Sony A300 DSLR

The Sunpak 522 is also known as Sunpak 3600 (I think it was the European version)

Sigma 24 Super Wide II f:2.8 review

E-mail

Autofocus zoom starting at 28mm are widely available on the after market and very often cheap (because widely available!). But you will certainly realise that with APS-C sensors, 28mm is too long. There is a big difference between 24mm and 28mm. 24mm is realy usable indoor and also good for landscape. Unfortunately 24mm was a rare focal lenght in the fim era. So zoom or prime lenses covering 24mm are expensive on the after market compared to their 28mm brothers. Have a look to this cute discontinued Sigma 24 Super Wide II f/2.8

Lowepro Flipside 300 review

E-mail

When I started to buy M42 lenses, my first camera bag was to small, enabling to carry only the DSLR (MINOLTA D5D) with the kit lens attached (MINOLTA 18-70), the telezomm (MINOLTA 75-300 f/4.5-5.6 D) included in the kit and an other lens or a cobra flash.
So I was looking for a bigger bag more confortable to wear. I found the LOWEPRO FLIPSIDE concept interesting because it ensure you that nobody can open the bag when you wear it because the zip is located on your back.
