Minolta AF 135 f2.8 review

E-mail

This fast prime lens is quite old (Minolta beercan era : 1985), and is reasonably priced on the after market (200€). it is very compact and lighweight and the autofocus speed is very fast. Is it the perfect complement of my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 ?

My new blog dedicated to SONY NEX with manual lenses : www.nex-tips.com

E-mail

I have enjoyed playing with old manual lenses with my SONY ALPHA 700. But now I am certain that the SONY NEX system is the better solution for that.

Sunpak 522 review: professional studio flash

E-mail

The Sunpak 522 is a professional studio flash. It feature the most accurate and reliable metering I could imagine when used in auto mode. The weakness is the poor ergonomics.

The Sunpak 522 is also known as Sunpak 3600 (I think it was the European version)

Lowepro Flipside 300 review

E-mail

When I started to buy M42 lenses, my first camera bag was to small, enabling to carry only the DSLR (MINOLTA D5D) with the kit lens attached (MINOLTA 18-70), the telezomm (MINOLTA 75-300 f/4.5-5.6 D) included in the kit and an other lens or a cobra flash.
So I was looking for a bigger bag more confortable to wear. I found the LOWEPRO FLIPSIDE concept interesting because it ensure you that nobody can open the bag when you wear it because the zip is located on your back.

How Lowcost4DSLR helps you to recycle film era photo equipment on your DSLR?

E-mail

film era photo equipment to be recycled on DSLR

Simply by teaching you how to recycle old (film era) photo equipment and use it with your brand new DSLR.

  • Instead of buying new and expensive autofocus lenses dedicated to your DSLR mount, you will buy old but excellent M42 fast prime lenses (manual focus).
  • Instead of buying new (only dedicated to your DSLR brand) flash, you will adapt old flash-guns from the early heighties and discover how efficient they are. (and very simple to use)
